Tired of seeing abusive reviews and hearing about people voting high on shit just to get a 'sure-fire' protection point?

Do you want to do more to keep this spammy shit in check, and meet others interested in doing the same?

Well, you can!

I'm Slash Firestorm, Recruitment Officer for the Elite Guard Barracks. We're a group of high-ranking B/P'ers dedicated to making Newgrounds a better place.

Now, I want to make something very clear, as I know there's a lot of frustration in regards to certain people submitting questionable flash. We are not a mass-voting group. If you're looking for a bunch of people mass-zero'ing Kitty Krew flash, look elsewhere.

What we are about is giving every flash an unbiased view and a fair vote, regardless of who made it, what group they belong to, and any personal feelings one might have. The vote of every member is their own individual decision.

So, how are we fighting to protect the portal?

Whenever a flash comes in that may be stolen, we look to find out if it indeed is; and if our suspicions are confirmed, we spread the word, helping to get it flagged.

Whenever a flash passes judgement and is fileswapped with some horrid, rulebreaking piece of shit, we inform the guys in charge.

Whenever we see someone mass-submitting to the portal, using alts and proxies to bypass the submission limit, we make sure Wade knows about it.

And, perhaps our main purpose, is to serve as a counterweight for the point-whore public that helps shitty flash to pass. Sadly, lots of crap still passes, but you, good sir or madam, can help turn the tide! Every voter that vows to vote fairly, with their heart instead of their stats, makes a difference!

Listen. I've been there. I've desperately wanted points and voted based on that. Almost all Newgrounders are guilty of this...if not now, then in their past. Even today, I feel the urge, the temptation. But that's not how I operate anymore. Now I use my high rank and voting power to do what's right for this great site, and give the honest, hardworking, clever flash artists a better chance at being noticed.

I've also been a member of a 'spam' group and seen how it works from the inside. They're not to blame for shit passing; the idea of groups mass-voting is vastly overblown. It is the public, the masses. Unless we have people voting how they feel on a flash, we're doing Newgrounds a major disservice.

That's not to say you can't enjoy stereotypically 'bad' flash. Many short, poorly-made crap has received fives from me, because (as you can tell from my own flash work) I enjoy unusual humor and such. What's important is that you vote how you feel.
